3:00 PM - 5:30 PM Cornerstone & Cohort Activity Session  Jason Dorland, "What's Love Got to Do With It?"

CONTEXT: Jason believes the mental and emotional components of pursuing high-performance in every aspect of our lives are the most undervalued and underutilized of everything we deem necessary in that pursuit. How we think and feel about what we do and why we do it is integral to achieving success at the highest level. In fact, he would consider it one of the greatest paradox that exists in society today, which to achieve our life’s dreams and goals we need to focus on the outcome of those goals—keep our eyes on the prize! Jason’s experience tells him, nothing could be further from the truth.

CHALLENGE: We have been convinced that to reach our goals all we need to do is engage in a series of physical tasks. If we work extremely hard, persevere through challenges, commit ourselves to success and never ever consider giving up on our dreams—above all else, these will ensure that we win! Fair enough. Jason won’t deny that grit is essential when achieving any goal. However, his simple question regarding that deeply held belief—who doesn’t know that? And, if these tasks are so easily accessible, why doesn’t everyone win—why don’t we all achieve our dreams and goals?

OPPORTUNITY/ RESOURCES: Jason will show you how to build the organizational culture necessary to ignite the passion and work ethic that you and those you support embrace. Be careful, though—the byproduct of that new culture may very well be something beyond your original dreams!

TAKE-AWAY: Reflect on your deeply held beliefs regarding success. / Learn how LOVE can determine our dreams and goals. / Tools for creating a culture that ignites the most powerful and sustainable motivation we know—intrinsic! Producing results and accountability beyond what you’re experiencing.

8:45 AM - 10:15 AM Cornerstone Session: Jason Dorland, "Let Your Legacy Guide You."

CONTEXT: Having recently experienced his dad’s death; in their final moments together Jason paused to reflect that our purpose here on earth boils down to some bare essentials. What do we stand for? How do we choose to treat people? And, how will we be remembered? Essentially, old age is a thief—it can steal our mobility, our sight, our hearing, our intellect and even our dignity. But, the one thing that’s off limits, the one part of us that can’t be taken—it’s our legacy!

OPPORTUNITY/ RESOURCES: Jason’s personal coaching legacy not only includes a winning record but the peace-of-mind that he has set his athletes up with a healthy sense of self and the tools to deal with whatever life may serve them. Building strong relationships based on trust, compassion, love and respect is just one of the ways he brought out the best in his athletes—both as competitors and citizens. Jason will inspire you to reflect on why and how you do what you do… and what you aspire to for your personal and professional legacy.

TAKE-AWAYReflect on the “why—how—what” of your professional day. / Learn how the legacy we aspire to is directly linked to who we ARE as professionals. / This is a wonderful heartfelt presentation that will serve to deepen the purpose and resolve of your organization’s members as they move along their journey.

10:15 AM - 12:00 PM Cornerstone Session: Dr. Dayle SavageLegacy & Leadership - Professional Competencies for the Admission Profession:

CONTEXT: Over the past three days you have been inspired to reflect on your leadership and legacy in the context of your work in the profession. What is AISAP doing to support you? What are the professional competencies that have been identified by AISAP and Vanderbilt University that will help to shape our legacy as a profession? How might you integrate these into your daily life and learning?

12:00 PM - 12:30PM Institute Closing Remarks & Wrap-up

* At least ten teaching lessons take place during each Breakout Session. Each lesson is related and connected to AISAP's Standards & Competencies for Admission & Enrollment Management Professionals and AISAP's Leadership Competencies & Characteristics. Attendees are encouraged to reflect on where they are in their journey as a professional as well as where they are in their knowledge of operational strategies and tactics for Admission and Enrollment Management success. The intersection of these two key elements helps to guide each participant in mapping their experience.
